Public Scoping

The Air Force performed public scoping remotely, through May 2, 2022. The scoping materials remain available on the Documents page of this website.

Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)

The Draft EIS was released to the public on October 6, 2023. The Draft EIS can be downloaded from the Documents page of this website. The Air Force held two public hearings to provide the public with more information about this proposal and the environmental impacts disclosed in the Draft EIS. Public comments were accepted at both hearings.

The first public hearing was held at the Lion Hills Center (2331 Military Road in Columbus, Mississippi) on the evening of Wednesday, October 25, 2023. The second public hearing was held virtually on the evening of Monday, October 30, 2023.

Verbal comments were accepted at both hearings, and written comments were also accepted at the in-person hearing. Your input is valuable and assists the Air Force in making more informed decisions.

Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)

The Final EIS for T-7A Recapitalization at Columbus AFB was published on May 3, 2024. The Air Force is observing a 30-day waiting period, which will end on June 3, 2024. After the close of the waiting period, the Air Force will sign a Record of Decision to select an alternative for implementation and explain the reasons for that selection.
